General Refund Policy

Town Ownership Policy

Background

Each town in our system is associated with a Second Life parcel or region. Over time, the Second Life ownership of a parcel may change while the in-system town record remains under a previous owner's account. This policy describes how we handle ownership transfer requests in that situation.

Eligibility

If you are the current Second Life owner of a parcel or region whose town in our system is held by a previous owner, you may request that the town be transferred to your account. To be eligible, you must provide verifiable proof that you currently own the Second Life land associated with the town.

What Transfers to the New Owner

When a transfer request is approved, the new owner receives the existing town together with all of its operational data, including citizen registrations, business records, arrests, reports, and other in-system records associated with that town. This preserves the continuity of the community that lives at that Second Life location and prevents duplicate records from appearing in cross-town lookups.

What the Previous Owner Keeps

The previous owner does not lose access to our service. To preserve work they invested in customizing their town, we provide them with an archived copy containing only their templates and configuration (such as report templates, forms, and similar reusable assets). This copy is renamed with an _old suffix to distinguish it from active towns and does not include citizen, business, or other operational data.

The previous owner may continue using their account, create new towns at any time, and reuse the templates from the archived copy in any future town they operate.

Requesting a Transfer

To request a town ownership transfer, please contact our support team through our support channels or via Second Life and provide:

  • The name of the town in our system
  • Your Second Life username and UUID
  • Proof that you currently own the associated Second Life parcel or region

We review each request individually and may contact the previous owner before completing the transfer. We reserve the right to decline transfer requests where ownership cannot be adequately verified or where the request appears to be made in bad faith.
